Turning 21...Ahoy Matey plus New cUpCaKeS*****

I cannot believe my daughter is 21!

It does not seem possible. The years have passed by so quickly. At her age I was pregnant with her. She has been the best daughter and I am so proud of her. She has achieved so much in her life so far and I cannot wait to see what is in store for her next. She will be graduating from college in December-finishing a semester early and still with straight A's in an Honor's Program. She starts an internship this week at a regional newspaper (actually their magazines). I hope this brings her closer to what she REALLY wishes to do in her career.

In honor of her 21st birthday we had a party for her. Instead of bar hopping she chose to share the day with her family and friends at home. That makes me even more proud of her and her life decisions. Even though she is a bright young woman, she still enjoys the simple things. She is totally in love with Pirates and Rubber Duckies..lol.

Her party was a little bit of a pirate theme, but we did not go "overboard" lol, pun intended

I am definitely not a baker/cake decorator but I did my best to make her a pirate cake. The rubber duckies are hers!

Purchased a pattern for these cupcakes from http://www.umecrafts.etsy.com/. With permission granted to sell these, I have begun new projects. CUPCAKES!!!!! I hope to play and put my own little twist on these yummy cupcakes. These have been sitting around for a month or so and I am finally getting around to posting them. The best thing about them is they do not get stale or add calories!

Baby Shower Shopping

Happy Mother's Day!
It is such a miserable day here today-rain, wind, and more rain.

Hubby and I went to TGIF for dinner last night to celebrate. He ordered the Chicken and Steak Fajita Combo and I tried the Portabella Sandwich with Roasted Red Pepper Soup. The only thing I didn't care for was how much butter they had on the bread. Next time I would try to get it without the butter!

We also went shopping at Target for a baby shower gift. I absolutely love buying for babies!! They are having a girl and their registry had a lot of Winnie the Pooh items. My hubby let me "browse" the aisles for the longest time!

Off to visit my mother and my mother-in-law for their special day too.

Here's a picture of the baby items taken with my new camera, Sony Cybershot. I think I will really like this camera when I learn how to use all of its features.

And Finally here is MISTER Kane. His name is just Kane, but when we capture this likeness of him we always say "that's Mister Kane to You!"

My First Official Blog

My first post in the "Blog World" and I have alot to learn;)
Happy Mother's Day to all of you wonderful ladies!!!

Mother's Day is not until tomorrow, but today is such a beautiful day here I have decided to celebrate it in the moment! Tomorrow's weather is supposed to be cloudy, rainy, and a high temperature of 53 degrees! My daughter bought me 3 perennials and has given them to me today so I have planted them in the warmth of the sunshine. Hubby and son went to Target and purchased me a memory stick for my new digital camera and gave it to me today. We purchased a Sony Digital camera a few weeks ago and thought all cameras took the same kind of memory card...Doh. To my dismay my camera only stored 10 pictures without the memory stick.

I mowed half of our 4 acres today and let hubby finish the rest and he also used the lawn sweeper.

It is peaceful right now. Son went to guitar lessons at his buddy's house, Daughter had to take a final for college and move her dorm stuff back. ( she is finishing her last semester up this fall and will be commuting!) and hubby is still doing "outside" chores.

What shall a girl do with a Saturday afternoon?????
Still dishes and laundry to do, watch my niece's softball game, or sit and enjoy the peace!
Better call and see what time the game is ...
