Boo

There's a goblin at my window, a monster by my door.
The pumpkin at my table keeps on smiling more and more.

There's a ghost who haunts my bedroom, A witch whose face is green.

They used to be my family until they dressed for Halloween.

The Halloween Garland "Urge"

Just in case you get the "urge". That was the note Elizabeth from Creative Breathing had sent me along with these adorable photos of her Halloween Garland Along.

How could I not comply?

My Christmas Garland Along took way too long.

I finished this one within a week in my spare time. Record breaking crafting going on here.

Pom poms added for cuteness.
I hand-stitched buttons on the garland base. You can switch up the decorations into different spots!!!
My hubby asked why I had a goat?!! He was joking. He knew it was a cat. Mine looks more skeered than E's does.
Gather Stitched vintage/retro Offray crafting ribbon for my garland base. Clever use of spools of ribbon I have stored.
I have quite a few spools of Christmas craft ribbon of this type. More garlands coming up, please! I have strung up purple and black buttons with green baker's twine to add. You could add tags and more Halloween goodies to your heart's desire. Switch it up!!
This is where my garland will hang ~ right above the fireplace on the mantel.
Caaaa-ute!
I could always add more buttons as I collect more goodies to adorn this seasonal garland (insert cheesy smile here) !!

Thank you, E for your inspiration
!!

Happy Halloween

"Let's Roll"

"Are you guys ready? Let's roll!" -- Flight 93 passenger Todd Beamer, apparently as a signal to other passengers to attack the hijackers, Sept. 11.

“Now, we have inscribed a new memory alongside those others. It’s a memory of tragedy and shock, of loss and mourning. But not only of loss and mourning. It’s also a memory of bravery and self-sacrifice, and the love that lays down its life for a friend–even a friend whose name it never knew. “
- President George W. Bush, December 11, 2001

Halloween Along

As if you do not know Elizabeth from Creative Breathing but I am following her Halloween Garland Along.
Itchy and Scratchy throat makes for 2 sick days from work. Makes time for some needed creativity.
I found some vintage Offray Halloween craft ribbon in my stash. I ran a double gathering stitch down the center using my sewing machine. It has black owls on it and is so retro. It will be the base for the garland.
I cannot bear to think of all the water I have drank in the last few days. Fluids, fluids, fluids.
Does anyone else do this? I always mark my water bottle with my initial. I do not want cootie germs!!! I do not share drinks or eats and definitely no double dipping. That's odd, the cootie germs got to me anyway :(

Will post the finished Halloween Garland Along when completed and hopefully I will be 100 percent by then.
