Before and After Black Foyer Bench..upcycle

                                                                    Before:

Dear Hubby found a baby crib and full size head board curb-side a few years ago.
The baby crib makes up the sides and he added more boards for the seat.

I used Zinsser primer so I didn't have to sand the piece. Next time I will tint the primer gray or a darker color as this was hard to cover with black paint.

The color was called Black Leather and this is the first coat.
You can see that it doesn't cover the white primer very well.
The back side. I painted the contoured edges with a smaller paint brush first.

Ta da! I purchased the fabric for the pillows at a Hunt and Gather show.

I wanted to distress this piece a bit and add red stain or paint to the chipped edges. I tried and failed with a homemade red glaze that I made with craft paint. The color looked dark pink over the black. I'm not defeated...I'm still considering purchasing red stain.

What do you think?

Hello Peeps,

I cannot believe it has been since last summer that I have posted here. So much other things take up my time, I suppose. I'm finishing up some college courses to get a Certificate in Hospitality and Tourism Management. I'm taking a quilting class from a MASTER quilter (I'm so excited). I still work full time and continue to keep exercise on my calender. With that being said, I know why I haven't blogged in a while.
Living in Northwest Indiana is brutal this year. This seems to be the winter that never ends. Hoping for sunshine and warmer temperatures very soon. I cannot wait to see my pink tulips in bloom.

Listed some glitter and fluffy Easter pretties in my shop today. You should take a look.

Happy Warmer Days Ahead for us all,

Julie
