It's fr fr freezing...

Baby, it's cold outside. After an unusually warm start of winter, we are finally feeling the chill! Today's temperatures are a high of 15.

Time to post these cuties that I finished up last weekend. This Raggedy Ann colored cottage is for my sister. She decorates her tree for Valentines in Ann & Andy.

A sweet aqua and pink duo. These colors always remind me of cotton candy.

A new twist on Valentine colors. Red and Aqua really pop.

Two more Valentine cottages in traditional colors and shape.

Happy Valentine's Day..mwahhhh,

Julie

will you be mine?

Ever since Christmas season has passed I have turned my energy to Valentine's Day. I have not decorated for Valentine's Day yet but I am crafting up a flurry of hearts. Midwest winter is relentless and I have to keep my mind and fingers busy.

I am officially starting my running routine tomorrow. I haven't done any physical exercise since early December. So, tomorrow is the day snow or shine!

You can find these sweet cupcake cottages in my shop.

I have tomorrow off for Martin Luther King Day...no pay..but will be enjoying the day shopping with my sister nonetheless. Photo Courtesy of Things That Make me Like America.

What an impact this speech has had for civil rights.

Enjoy your week, Sweets!

Cupcake Carousel and Topper

Summer days remind me of County Fairs and Sweets. My favorite treat at the local count fair is cotton candy. I love its pink and blue colors and its light, sweet, and fluffy texture.
Cupcake Carousel
Who wouldn't like a carousel ride on a sweet, fluffy cupcake? I have had this image in my mind for quite sometime now. I have finally had a little creativity kick in the pants. Just a little kick--resulting in only two pieces.
Pom Pom Bluebird Cupcake Topper--sweet enough to perch atop a cupcake. He even has worn his own party hat made from a vintage cupcake liner.

Another Sweet of the actual eating kind - Coconut Blossoms. I changed up a recipe from Paula Deen and made my almond and coconut flavored. I prefer the original recipe for her Lemon Blossoms. You have to try them...they are addicting.

Have a sweet week,

11 cupcake cottages

Finally finished...ta daaaaa! 11 fabulous cupcake cottages...mwahhhahhhaa. Does that remind you of the Count on Sesame Street;)? These are for a custom order. Hope to list them tonight.

School, Fall, and Halloween. The Halloween fringe needs a little persuasion to relax a little!

Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Winter. Winter is one of my favorites.

Valentine, St Patricks, and Easter. The Easter cottage is one of my favs too.

And last but not least...Summer and Texas themed. These 2 gave me the most challenge!!!

See I had to take a shot of my 2 favorites together!

Showing the bandana walkway. Not sure if it is clear enough to see it here.

And last but defintely not LEAST------
For a super generous giveaway visit Melissa's blog http://keepsakesbymelissa.blogspot.com/

Spring is HERE!

It's finally warming up a bit in the midwest. I see the greens coming up through the earth in my flower bed. The sun is shining much longer. This means I cantake brighter pictures!!!!

This is a special order for Leigh. She wanted all pink and aqua.
This bunch of bunnies is inspired by Jennifer Murphy http://www.jmurphybears.com/ I love how the little one turned out with her party and and frou frou mini skirt!
Mary http://snowflakes-on-eyelashes.blogspot.com/ ordered these special colors for these cottages and even sent me the bunnies to use for them. Great choice in colors!

I was so inpsired by Mary's choices in colors that I went ahead and created another pair to sell. They are named after her. Mary's Cottage Ornaments!!!
She always inspired me to create.
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend,

Turning 21...Ahoy Matey plus New cUpCaKeS*****

I cannot believe my daughter is 21!

It does not seem possible. The years have passed by so quickly. At her age I was pregnant with her. She has been the best daughter and I am so proud of her. She has achieved so much in her life so far and I cannot wait to see what is in store for her next. She will be graduating from college in December-finishing a semester early and still with straight A's in an Honor's Program. She starts an internship this week at a regional newspaper (actually their magazines). I hope this brings her closer to what she REALLY wishes to do in her career.

In honor of her 21st birthday we had a party for her. Instead of bar hopping she chose to share the day with her family and friends at home. That makes me even more proud of her and her life decisions. Even though she is a bright young woman, she still enjoys the simple things. She is totally in love with Pirates and Rubber Duckies..lol.

Her party was a little bit of a pirate theme, but we did not go "overboard" lol, pun intended

I am definitely not a baker/cake decorator but I did my best to make her a pirate cake. The rubber duckies are hers!

Purchased a pattern for these cupcakes from http://www.umecrafts.etsy.com/. With permission granted to sell these, I have begun new projects. CUPCAKES!!!!! I hope to play and put my own little twist on these yummy cupcakes. These have been sitting around for a month or so and I am finally getting around to posting them. The best thing about them is they do not get stale or add calories!
